About Bookings

Q) Do I need a credit card to make reservations?
A) We will take a credit card number at the time of booking to secure your reservations, but will not charge your card until the day of your tour. Payment for your tour will be processed at time of check in. Guests are welcome to use other methods of payment at time of check in. If you wish to pay with the credit card used to hold your booking the credit card MUST be presented at time of check in.

If you have a Marble zip gift certificate, you will still need to leave your credit card details to make a reservation. We will not accept reservations without a credit card

Q) Do I need to make reservations?
A) Yes! We always recommend booking in advance. We book a maximum of 20 people on a tour and therefore we can sell out quickly. In order to guarantee your spot, please indicate the tour you want and the time that will work best for you when you make your reservation. Please call our sales desk or e-mail info@marbleziptours.com.

The sooner you book the better! Please note: we have a 24 hour cancellation policy, which allows you to change

or cancel your tour 24 hours prior to the start of your tour.

Summer and holidays are the busiest time of year for us; this does not mean if you call the day of, that we won’t have any spots left- it does mean we cannot guarantee your tour preference or that tour time will still be available.

Q) How much does the zip line cost?
A) Adult: $79.00 plus HST

Youth: $69.00 (17 and under) plus HST

Q) What is your cancellation policy?
A) Cancellations made within the 24 hours prior to tour departure will be charged full tour price. Cancellations for groups of 10 or more participants require 72 hours notice or full charges apply. 'No-shows' will also be charged full tour price. Charges for cancellations and no-shows will be applied to the credit card provided.

Marble Zip reserves the right to cancel tours due to inclement weather, foreseeable hazards, insufficient bookings, or events beyond our control. In these events, full refunds will be made or alternative dates offered.

About Zip Tours

Q) Are tours cancelled if it rains?
A) Keep in mind it is Newfoundland and it does happen to rain every once in a while! Tours run in rain, snow, or sunshine!

This is a 365 day activity - and FYI zipping in winter snow is just as fun (and a different experience) as fine sunshine summers day.

Please check the weather and dress appropriately for your tour. Generally, the weather in the village reflects the weather on course; we can provide you with rain gear if necessary. Refunds will not be given in the event of rain.

Q) Can any child go tandem?
A) No! ... nice idea, but no.

Q) Can I bring a backpack ?
A) You will not be able to bring a backpack or any other baggage on tour with you. You will be wearing a full body harness and backpacks will interfere with this harness. In addition, we do not want anyone to lose of drop anything while zipping! Please leave all personal belongings at your hotel. Small item storage is available for Marble Zip guests.

Q) Can I bring my camera?
A) Yes, of course you can! In fact we encourage it.

If you have a camera or small video recording device, you can bring it with you. We recommend have a wrist or neck strap so that you can attach it to yourself when zipping. Please remember, you are responsible for your own camera when on tour. Your tour guides will show you the best way to carry your camera while on tour.

All guests wear a full body harness which allows you full use of your arms which zipping.

And don't for get, if you take some good shots - please share them!!!

Q) Can I bring my own helmet?
A) For safety reasons, all guests must wear a Marble Zip helmet, which will be provided by your guides. Marble Zip does not supply goggles, but guests are allowed to wear their own ski goggles if they wish. They are advisable on snowy days, but are not required.

Q) Can I just watch the tours?
A) Yes!

There is a large viewing deck just minutes away. We are very welcome to along and watch the others ... take the photos, and shout encouragement.

Q) Can I only zip the first line?
A) Our Zip Tours last approximately 2 hours and include 6 zip lines, we do not offer a shorter version. We can take you off the tour after the first line but you would be required to pay full price for the tour.

Q) Do people ever get injured?
A) We've had no serious injuries but as with any adventure activity there are risks.

Q) Do you provide storage?
A) We can provide storage for small items, such as backpacks and purses for our guests while they are out on tour. Our storage is limited and we cannot store items, such as large baggage, skis, snowboards or bikes.

Q) Do you provide transportation?
A) Guests are required to meet at the Marble Zip Lodge to check-in for their tours; transportation will be provided from this point.

A) Yes we do; we run all year round, in all weather conditions.

Q) Health, safety and physical requirements?
A) * Marble Zip tours minimum weight requirement is 60lbs/30kgs to a maximum of 275lbs/125kgs.

* Guests should be prepared with their own allergy medications, if required.

* Persons unsure of their physical ability should consult their physician first.

* Smoking, drugs or alcohol are not permitted on the tour at any time.

* Marble Zip is in no way obligated to complete a tour if one or more participants is found to be endangering the safety of themselves, others, or the environment. Refunds will not be given in this situation.

Q) How do you stop on the zip line?
A) Marble Zip has a patented gravity braking system; we can safely stop riders from 60 to 275 pounds, no matter what the wind conditions. With all of our lines and all our experience, we have thousands of successful brakes behind us!

Q) How long am I on the Zip lines?
A) Your Zip Tour will include 6 different lines. Lines range from 500 feet up to 900 feet.

Our Zip Tours run approximately 2 hours. All guests must arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of their tour, to go through the safety briefing, and complete the paperwork etc.

Q) If I get scared can I quit?
A) If you book on a tour and zip this first line and are too scared to continue the tour we can take you off the tour. Please keep in mind there are no refunds given if this occurs. There are a couple other points where we can remove you from the tour if you find you are too scared to continue, however if you happen to zip once, you must zip at least one more time to get back to the other side of the mountain so that we can take you off the tour.

But don't worry - this really is a rare event!!! ENJOY THE ZIP

Q) Is it safe?
A) Adventure sport activities have risks and each guest is required to sign our Release of Liability Agreement.

The zip lines are checked daily by our highly qualified guides and we have had no incidents or accidents.

Q) Summer booking check list
A) During the summer months - May to October

* Wear comfortable, supportive athletic or hiking shoes. Open toed shoes, sandals and dress shoes are not permitted.

* Wear comfortable clothing appropriate for the weather.

* Every participant must read and sign our Release of Liability prior to participating.

* No bags, purses or backpacks are allowed.

* Secure all loose items (keys, cameras, change, etc.) in a sealed pocket. Small still and video cameras are allowed if you can secure them in a pocket. Professional cameras and equipment may be brought with prior permission only as they can pose a security risk.

* Rain gear (jackets) are available as required.

* Please avoid wearing insect repellant containing DEET.

Q) What are your age and weight restrictions?
A) Minimum age for our Zip Tours is 6 years old. The minimum weight requirement to zip tour is 65lbs (30 kg).

Our upper weight limit is 275 lbs (125 kg).

Guests under the age of 18 will need a guardians signature on their waivers.

Q) What clothes should I wear?
A) Dress for the day's weather.

In summer, shorts and t-shirts are great. We recommend a light jacket in the late afternoons and evenings. Wear closed toe shoes - no sandals or flip-flops. If it's raining, bring a rain jacket. If you don't have one, don't worry, we provide rain jackets.

In winter, we recommend wearing layers of outdoor clothing. Generally, we suggest wearing the same thing you'd wear skiing or snowboarding.

Q) What is the highest and longest point?
A) Each of our zip lines vary in height. The highest point is about 285 feet above the ground.

Q) What type of harness do you wear?
A) Marble Zip tours has custom designed and manufactured harnesses. They are similar to a rock climbing harness. Our harnesses are a five-point design; they go around your waist, your legs, over your shoulders and have a chest strap.

They are really comfortable for walking around; they are lightweight and give all of our guests the security they need and the freedom to move around when on the zip lines.

Q) Where are you located?
A) Our sales desk is located at Marble Mountain, Steady Brook, just behind Tim Horton's and George's Ski World, directly on the Trans Canada Highway (TCH).

All guests are asked to arrive at our Sales Desk 15 minutes prior to the start of their tour to check-in. Once you have checked in for your tour, our tour guides will get you ready for it; we will take care of all transportation from this point.

Q) Can I bring a camera?
A) Yes, of course you should! There are many oppurtunties to take pictures of whales, eagles , osprey , artic terns and other wildlife ... plus the beautiful Newfoundland coastline.
